Asters advises Shark Robotics on initiative related to the supply of 40 AI-powered Colossus firefighting robots to Ukraine's Emergency Service. The robots are designed to operate up to 12 consecutive hours and can be remotely controlled up to 1,000 meters away. They are capable of performing eight different functions — including fire extinguishing, video inspection, evacuation and smoke extraction — significantly enhancing the safety of firefighters and the protection of critical infrastructure.
The initiative is part of a broader program to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's critical infrastructure, funded by the French government and the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Affairs. It is being implemented under a France-Ukraine Grant Agreement and required innovative legal solutions and strategic guidance.
Asters team, led by Partner Tetiana Tyshchenko, played a central role in creating the legal pathways to implement the initiative. She also led all high-level communications with national and international authorities, including the French Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrainian ministries, intergovernmental bodies and others, to secure high-priority recognition from the Strategic Investment Council. The team also advised the client on the implementation of the untested bilateral grant procedures, navigated through complex regulatory and legal challenges, secured funding and governmental approvals.
