Yuriy Kotliarov is a Co-Chair of the new EBA Subcommittee on Cybersecurity

Asters' Partner and Head of Tech & Comms practice Yuriy Kotliarov has been elected as a Co-Chair of the European Business Association (EBA) Subcommittee on Cybersecurity. He was previously one of the initiators of its launching, contributed to the development of the concept and key objectives, namely advocacy of regulatory and legislative initiatives, and facilitation of dialogue between key stakeholders.

Yuriy Kotliarov leads Asters' Tech & Comms practice, which covers expertise in IT, cybersecurity, data protection and electronic communications. He has extensive experience in managing legal and cross-functional projects of various scales (from the projects within one company to the ones that impact industry and country). Yuriy is also actively involved in lawmaking, regulatory policy development, advising associations and government agencies, and has extensive experience working with the major players of national cybersecurity system of Ukraine.

Commenting on the appointment, he says: "The establishment of a cybersecurity platform in one of the most powerful business communities is a logical and demanded step. Ukraine is in an aggressive cyber space, private and public assets are under constant cyberattacks, and regulatory framework in the field of information protection and cybersecurity is stringent. Therefore, cybersecurity stakeholders from business and government have emphasized at numerous events the need to create a cybersecurity platform, which this committee could become. I see it as my task to develop a systematic advocacy of interests of the business community and supporting sustainable public-private dialogue and interaction. At the same time, this platform should not be a closed club of interests, so we need to involve all interested EBA members and government stakeholders in these tasks."
