Asters is pleased to announce the promotion of Yuna Potomkina to Partner effective from 1 March 2025. After joining the firm in 2018, she took the lead over Alternative Dispute Resolution practice and later co-headed the new Public Advocacy & Law practice as it developed.
She focuses on negotiation, mediation, settlement agreements, developing and implementing effective dispute resolution strategies. She also contributed to drafting law on mediation and signing the Singapore Convention on Mediation by Ukraine as well as participated in other legislative initiatives to represent clients and business organisations before the government authorities.
Since the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Yuna accumulated her professional experience to advise corporate and private clients on military law and mobilisation issues, regulatory authorities – on legislative initiatives to improve the legal environment during martial law in Ukraine. She was one of the initiators of Asters' War Time Crisis Team, which has been working on developing unique legal solutions to ensure the smooth operation of clients' businesses during the wartime. This initiative was shortlisted by the FT Innovative Lawyers Europe 2023 for innovation in client care.
Yuna holds a Master of Laws from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Pre-LL.M. in International, Transnational & US law from Illinois Institute of Technology (USA). She also participated in numerous programs in the USA, the Netherlands and Sweden to improve her negotiation and mediation skills.
