INTEGRITES has helped a war veteran to recover his state benefits in arrears at pre-trial stage

INTEGRITES

INTEGRITES' Domestic Litigation lawyers have provided pro bono legal advice to a war veteran, a demobilised serviceman of the Air Assault Forces who defended Ukraine from armed Russian aggression, in recovering his state military compensation.

After being severely injured during the fighting in eastern Ukraine, the client spent a long time in treatment and rehabilitation. Later, he was discharged from military service and removed from the military register.

To help him receive the appropriate monetary compensation, the team of lawyers at INTEGRITES crafted and implemented a dispute resolution strategy at the pre-trial and court stages.

However, we have managed to settle the dispute before court hearings, which resulted in withdrawal of the lawsuit. This saved the client's time and efforts, and allowed the combat unit to remain focused on its core tasks on the battlefield.

The client has received the funds due to him and now will be able to continue his rehabilitation and return to civilian life.

"It is quite difficult for Ukrainian military servicemen to comply with all of the procedures that are necessary in order to receive the official benefits due to them by the state. Often, due to intensive treatment, soldiers cannot afford to spend much time to visit a range of various state authorities to collect a bunch of required documents. It is in this case that a lawyer who can help is very much needed. I am proud that, together with my colleagues, we offer such assistance as pro bono legal services. This is our contribution to helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in Ukraine's victory," commented Oleksandr Onishchenko, Partner and Head of Domestic Litigation at INTEGRITES.

The team that provided this pro bono assistance to the serviceman consisted of Oleksandr Onishchenko, Senior Associate Mykola Yerema, and Junior Associate Viktoriia Bondar.
