Goretskyy & Partners is pleased to announce opening of banking and finance and private clients practice, led by partner Nickolas Likhachov. This joining is aimed at strengthening international and transactional footprint of the firm.

Nickolas represents major commercial and investment banks, as lead agent and arranger, and corporations in a wide range of leveraged and corporate finance transactions, including domestic and cross-border acquisition finance, investment-grade facilities, asset-based lending facilities and restructurings.

Expertise of Mr. Likhachov includes M&A structuring both on the sides of foreign and local investors, advising on incorporation of foreign companies, on day-to-day funds management issues including fund structuring, disclosure, investment management and outsourcing arrangements. He has particular expertise in the area of investment distribution and has advised on strategic investments into on-shore and offshore pooled investment vehicles acting for institutional and advisory clients as well as advising in large-scale, multijurisdictional transactions. Nickolas has substantial experience in purchase-sale of luxury real estate, yachts, airplanes, including internationally.

At ease with the most technically demanding of projects, Nickolas is adept at steering clients through the legal complexities of as counsel for the agent banks; he is active in all aspects of deal structure, negotiation and documentation, including the negotiation of intercreditor relationships among creditors. Other areas Nickolas focuses on include property-related financings, pre-IPO financings, margin lending transactions, and high yield buy and high yield debt financings. Other fields of expertise of Nickolas includes corporate law, international tax structuring, asset tracing and forensic.

During these challenging times for Ukraine, key services of the practice will also include appraisal of financial damages connected with war with Russia, as well as introducing and implementation of recovery of damages through international mechanisms. Mr. Likhachov will also advise on structuring of sale-purchase of corporate and private assets, work with Ukrainian and foreign banks for the purposes of assistance to corporate and private clients.

Before joining to Goretskyy & Partners Nickolas was partner at Eterna Law; partner at Spensers (formerly Spenser & Kauffmann), was working as Counsel to the Chairman of the National credit Bank; senior associate at Levenets, Maciw & Partners, associate at CMS Cameron McKenna.
