Asters successfully defended the interests of one of the leading Ukrainian banks in a dispute related to the recovery of funds from deposit and current account agreements worth over UAH 134 million.
Former clients of the bank sought to recover funds that were placed on bank deposits and current accounts, claiming that the bank had failed to fulfil its obligations to return funds and repay interest. The dispute has been considered by the courts since 2015.
On 24 April 2024, the Supreme Court dismissed the plaintiff's appeal in cassation and upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal, reducing the amount to be recovered to UAH 204,000 and EUR 12,000.
Asters' litigation team included Partner Gleb Bialyi, Counsel Sergiy Dusanovsky, Associates Dmytro Monastyrskyi and Oleksii Hlovatskyi.
