Asters is pleased to announce the promotions of Senior Associates Larysa Antoshchuk (Tax Dispute Resolution) and Daryna Ushchapivska (International Arbitration and Cross-Border Litigation) to Counsels effective from 1 January 2025.
Larysa Antoshchuk has 18 years of experience in representing private clients, international and local companies in tax disputes related to applying withholding tax, corporate profit tax, VAT and employment taxes. She also advises on disputable issues related to international double tax treaties application in Ukraine, conducting legal and tax due diligence, and defends companies' management in cases involving economic crimes. Having joined Asters in 2021, she significantly strengthened tax litigation practice. In 2024, the total value of tax disputes she assisted with amounted to UAH 29 billion.
Daryna Ushchapivska has over 10 years of professional experience, which includes advising local and international clients in commercial and investment arbitrations under ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, VIAC, FOSFA, and ICAC at the UCCI Arbitration Rules. She has advised clients on complex cross-border litigations, involving jurisdictions such as the UK, the BVI, Cyprus, Jersey, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Ukraine. Daryna has also advised the State of Ukraine and state-owned companies in investor-state arbitrations and international commercial arbitrations. Her recent experience includes investor state-arbitrations against the Russian Federation related to the protection of investments in Crimea.
