Yaroslav Petrov, Counsel at Asters Law Firm, has been approved as a new member of the Energy Community’s Panel of Mediators by the Selection Committee of the Energy Community Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Centre.
The Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Centre focuses on facilitation for the swift closure of dispute settlement cases under the Energy Community Treaty, negotiations and mediation of investor-state disputes, and supports national authorities in their negotiations with private parties. The Centre is attached to the Legal Unit of the Energy Community Secretariat.
The Energy Community is an international organization dealing with energy policy. The Treaty establishing the Energy Community brings together the European Union, on one hand, and countries from the South East Europe and Black Sea region. The key aim of the organization is to extend the EU internal energy market to South East Europe and beyond on the basis of a legally binding framework.
