Interlegal defended the Shipowner’s interests in the conflict with port authorities

Interlegal

The issue of lawful actions committed by port authorities in respect of vessels flying under the foreign flag is always vital in Ukraine. Interlegal experts settled one more conflict related to actions of “Ukrtransbezpeka” officers, in particular, Port State Control and Harbour Master Service, and provided legal assistance to the Shipowner in the Vessel departure.

The reason for rejecting the Vessel departure was the Port State Control Inspection Report in the framework of the Black Sea Memorandum of Understanding with quite doubtful conclusion.

But due to prompt engagement of Interlegal lawyers, the Shipowner received advice upon the necessary actions. Interlegal lawyers coordinated also required actions of the Vessel Master and the Agent and filed a legal opinion to the port authorities.

Interlegal actions facilitated the Vessel departure as soon as possible and minimized the Shipowner’s losses.

Interlegal attorney-at-law Vitalii Tolstik, junior lawyer Dmitriy Chirking and senior lawyer Alexey Remeslo led the case.
